Basem Fawaz Rousan

Profile

His Excellency Eng. Basem Rousan has more then 30 years of executive multi disciplinary experience in both the private and public sector as a Telecom Engineer, including regulatory and public policy work

He held permanent Executive positions; CTO and deputy CEO, for the last 15 years in 2 of the leading telecommunication corporations in Jordan and the region spanning both the mobile and fixed line sectors. Eng Rousan was heavily involved in all strategic business decisions at all executive levels - hundreds of millions of Dollars worth. This included his work as a strategic planner on the Interconnection and wholesale business, Interconnection negotiations, and International telecom business, leading to the introduction of Fast link International Gateway infrastructure and business.

The following are some highlights of Eng. Rousan’s experience:

·         Sound Commercial and Economic Prowess Developed through executive work in multi billions operations with hands on experience in strategic planning, Financial Analysis, revenue and profit KPI setting, and business planning.

·         Establishing, leading and managing technical, regulatory and policy business units, including building new ‘start-up’ business teams.

·         Formulating and delivering high level strategic policy guidance and advice on all regulatory and public policy issues at Board and executive management level, including corporate compliance matters.

·         In depth understanding of government and regulator framework gained through senior corporate roles and functions performed.

·         Extensive experience in GSM mobile networks environment from both technical and regulatory perspectives.

·         Effective participation as member of in the National Steering Committees for Industry Interconnection and Numbering.
